Simple Booties

Supplies
Sport or baby weight yarn

Cast on 40 stitches and work 10 rows garter stitch (knit every row).

Row 11 -- K17, K2 tog, PM, K2, PM, SKP, K17
Row 12 and all even rows in this section -- purl across
Row 13 -- K16, K2 tog, (slip marker), K2, (slip marker) K16
Row 15 -- K15, K2 tog, sm, K2, sm, SKP, K15
Row 17 -- K14, K2 tog, sm, K2, sm, SKP, K14
Row 19 -- K13, K2 tog, sm, K2, sm, SKP, K13
Row 21 -- K12, K2 tog, sm, K2, sm, SKP, K12
Row 23 -- K11, K2 tog, sm, K2, sm, SKP, K11  (total of 26 sts on needles)

Work 5 rows of K1, P1 ribbing.
Purl one row.
K2, YO, *K2 tog, K1, YO, repeat from * across, ending with K2
Purl one row.

Knit 10 rows garter stitch and bind off on right side in Knit loosly.
(To bind off looser, use a larger needle to work the bind off -- I used a size 5 for this)

Sew up the back and sole and you're done.
Make either a 3 stitch I-cord or a crocheted strip to thread through the eyelets.
You can also use ribbon in the eyelets if you wish.
