This pattern was given to Sue by her mom. Her mom's friend wrote it and gave it to her  over 20 years ago!

Slipper Socks

Sizes: Child, Womans, Mens

Use sport weight, doubled and a size I hook for a child

Worsted weight doubled and size I for womans and

Worsted weight doubled and size J for mens size

Gauge should be 3 sts to 1

Round 1: Ch 2 and work 5 sc in 2nd chain from hook and form a circle.

Place a marker on the last stitch of this round (safety pins work great)

Round 2: work 3 sc in each stitch around. You should have 15 stitches at the end of this row.

Round 3: *2 sc in first sc, sc in each of the next 2 sc*repeat around (20 sts)

Round 4: For mens and womens only *2 sc in first sc, sc in each of the next 3 sc. Repeat around* (25)

Repeat on (20 childs) or 25 adults for 12 rounds child and 14 rounds adult

Back:

Row 1: Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each of the next 9 stitches, sc in next (20) 25 stitches, sc in each ch on opposite side of beginning chain, ch 1 turn You should have (40) 45 stitches

Now you will only sc in the back loops of each stitch.

Rows 2-9: Sc in back loop of each sc. Across, ch 1 turn

Begin to decrease:

Row 1: sc in each of the next (18) 20 stitches, dec over next 2 as follows: draw up a loop in each of the next 2 sts, 3 loops on hookm work (0) 1 sc, dec as before over next 2 sts. , sc in each of the next (18) 20 stitches ch 1 , turn

Row 2: sc in each of the next (17) 19 sts, dec over next 2 sts. , work (0) 1 sc, dec, sc in next (17) 19 sc, ch 1, turn

Row 3: sc in each of the next (16) 18 sc, dec , work (0) 1 sc , dec, sc in next (16) 18 sc, ch 1 turn

To finish: Fold back section in half and slip stitch inside loops together. Finish off.
