Mitered Crocheted Hat

Materials Needed:

1- skein Worsted weight yarn

Size H crochet hook

 

Begin by making  a chain of 31 stitches

Row 1: in second chain from hook , sc in back loops only, each stitch across row (30 sts), Ch 1

Row 2: sc in all 30 sts. ch 1

Row 3: sc in first 26 sts, leaving four remaining, Ch 1

Row 4: sc 26 , ch 1

Row 5: sc 27, ch 1, (you are picking up one of the stitches you left free)

Row 6: sc 27, ch 1

Row 7 and 8: sc in next 28 sts, ch 1 
Row 9 and 10: sc in next 29 sts, ch 1
Row 11 and 12: sc in next 30 sts, ch 1
Row 13 and 14: sc in next 25 sts, ch 1
Row 15 and 16: sc in next 26 sts, ch1
Row 17 and 18: sc in next 27 sts,ch1
Row 19 and 20: sc in next 28 sts,ch1
Row 21 and 22: sc in next 29 sts,ch1
Row 23 and 24: sc in next 30 sts.,ch1
Repeat rows 1 to 24 two more times.
Finish by slip stitching across side and top in the back loops only. If you are working with two different colors slip stitch up the wrong side.  Add what ever finishing touch you'd like to the top.  Pom-Poms, braids, etc.  look great. For Ship Support , please leave plain on top.
