Easy to knit fingerless gloves in two weights of yarn and two sizes.

Fingerless Gloves

Materals: approx. 2 oz worsted weight yarn

Size 8 needles (straights or double points)

Needle for finishing.

Cast on:

          4 sts. To 1"           5 sts to 1"

Adult 36 ( 4 sts. to 1" or  44 at 5 sts. to 1"

Teen/child   30                38

 

Work in K1, P1 for 3" to 4"

Begin glove:

Row 1 ,3, 5: Knit

Row 2 , 4, 6 : Purl

Row 7: Knit 

Adult: Knit  17,  ( 21)

Teen/Child : knit 14, ( 18)

Place marker, K 2, Place Marker, Knit to end

Row 8: Purl

Row 9: K across to markers slip marker, Increase in each of the two stitches, slip marker, knit across

Row 10,12: Purl

Row 11: Knit to marker, slip marker, increase in first stitch, K2. Increase in next stitch, slip marker, knit across

Repeat rows 10 and 11 until there are 8 stitches between markers

Row: 14: Purl to marker slip marker, knit 8, slip marker, Purl to end

Row 15: Knit to marker, slip marker, Increase in first stitch, knit to last stitch and increase, knit across row

Row 16: Purl acrossed to marker, slip marker, Knit 10, slip marker, purl across

Row 17: Knit across to marker, slip marker, increase in first stitch between markers knit to last stitch and increase, slip marker, knit across

Row 18: purl to marker, slip marker, knit 12, slip marker, Purl across

Row 19: knit to marker, remover marker, bind off 12, remove marker

Row 20 : Purl across stitches

Row 21, 23: Knit

Rows 22, 24 Purl

Knit six rows even and bind off. If you want a tighter top, do these six rows in K1,P1 ribbing. Sew up side seam (if using straight needles) and fasten off end.
