Five Raised Multi-Colored Rings make this a nice looking hat!

Materials:
approx. 3 oz. worsted weight yarn in main color
small amounts of two other colors
16" size 8 cirular needle and double points or size to give gauge
Needle for finish off ends.
 
Gauge is either 4 stitches to 1" or 5 stitches to 1"
 
Cast on 72 stitches if your gauge is 4 sts. to 1" , 80 for 5 to 1" with main color
 
Rows 1-6 Knit
Row 7and 9: Purl
Row 8 and 10 Knit
Row 11: Knit
Row 12: Knit in second color , carrying main in back
Row 13 and 15: Purl
Row 14 and 16: Knit
Row 17: K and fasten off this color at end.
Row 18: Knit in main color
Row 19 and 21: P
Row 20 and 22: Knit
Row 23: Knit
Row: 24: Knit in Third color, carry main color in back
Row: 25 and 27: Purl
Row 26 and 28: Knit
Row 29: Knit around and fasten off this color at the end
Row 30: with main color K
Row 31 and 33: Purl
Rows 32 and 34 : Knit
Knit rest of rows until hat measures 6"
 
Begin Decrease rows:
Row 1: Knit 6, K 2 tog around
Row 2 and all even : Knit
Row 3: Knit 5, K 2 tog around
Row 5: Knit 4 , K2 tog around
 
Repeat decreases as above until you are K2 tog around.
Repeat K 2 tog until only 5 stitches remain.  Break of thread leaving a 10" tail.  Run through stitches and fasten off.  Finish all ends.
