With size 8 needles and worsted weight yarn (gauge 4 sts to 1”)

Cast on 36 sts.

Knit 6 rows even

Pattern:

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: K4, P 28, K4

Row 3: K4, * K 2tog leaving the stitches on the left needle, Knit the right hand stitch and move both stitches to the right hand needle. P2* repeat across until 4 sts. Remain. K4

Row: K4, *K2, P2* across until 4 sts. Remain , K4

Repeat Pattern rows until piece measures 8 ½”. Knit 6 rows and bind off.

With Size 8 needles and a gauge of 4 sts to 1”

Cast on 36 sts

Row 1-6: Knit

Row 7,9: Knit

Row 8,10: K4, P28. K4

Row 11: K4, *YO, K2 tog* repeat across until 4 sts remain. K4

Row 12: Knit

Repeat Rows 7 to 12 until piece measures 8 ½”.

Knit 6 rows. Bind off and weave in ends
